The Amazing 2014 Strider bike that GROWS with your Child

by Dave on May 17, 2014

Strider Sports is one of the first balance bike companies launched in the US,  starting up in 2007, and Kids Balance Bikes  jumped on board close behind in 2008 to promote this exciting new concept to kids as young as 18 months.

Now Strider has grown a thousand fold,  expanded worldwide and improved their bikes each year to now offer a wide range of products for kids 18 months up to 10 yrs old, with gobs of accessories and replacement parts to keep the process interesting and age appropriate.

Lets check out the offerings for 2014!

There are 3 models to choose from:  The Strider 12 Classic bike – back to the basics and affordable with all the same quality Strider has always offered,  The Strider 12 Sport offers a few extra amenities than the Classic,  such as a quick release on both the handlebars and seat post, mini hand grips with a padded bar handle, and an XL seat included.   Then there is the Super Strider 16 for kids 6 – 10 yrs.

The Strider Classic or Sport bike can easily be upgraded with accessories and parts as your child grows.    The pictures below show the Strider Sport bike with added accessories that will accommodate your child up to 6 years old (XL seat included in the Sport model).    The only necessary accessories to add time to your child’s experience from 4 – 6 yrs old would be the XL seat and XL handlebars ($19).  The other additions are simply for your child’s fun and enjoyment and comfort.

The XL handlebar and XL seat is what really separates the Strider from any other entry level (as young as 18 months old) balance bike on the market!  There is no other bike this light and small that a child could easily use for up to 5 years in a row!

Some children will never need to go beyond the basic model when they start as young as 18 months to 3 yrs old, because they are often riding a pedal bike before their 4 th birthday like my son Simon here back in 2009 at age 3 1/2 after riding a Strider bike for a year.

But kids don’t just give up their balance bike.   My son still insists I keep a 16″ balance bike on hand for fun jaunts around the cul-de-sac or a trip to the skate park!

Do you have a child already 6 years or older?   Strider Sports has that covered too!

In 2013 they released their excellent quality Super Strider 16, available in 4 colors: Red, Green, Blue, Black. Want to see it in action?  Check out the awesome video here.

Strider sports has really shown their commitment to the balance bike world and adjusted their products to the growing interest and demand of their customers.  Their excellent customer support and availability on a daily basis gives you the confidence that this company stands behind their product.

The 2014  Strider line up and accessories shows you can’t go wrong starting your child off on a Strider bike!
